Time: Tuesday July 13, 11:30 EDT (Eastern Daylight Time)
Teacher burnout rates are at an all-time high. Many music teachers leave the field and don't make it past their 5th year of teaching due to high stress levels and lack of skills to cope with the job requirements. And, throwing a global pandemic into the mix hasn’t made our personal or professional lives any easier. Various research, resources, strategies, and practices will be discussed and experienced that can help music teachers build their emotional resilience by understanding the value of self-care and wellness, as well as increasing their mental health, in order to provide a more cohesive and responsive classroom environment for their students.
During this session, you will:
-Experience strategies for increasing teacher resilience.
-Understand the importance and value of teacher self-care and wellness.
-Discuss strategies for providing a more cohesive and responsive classroom environment.
