Microphone Anatomy and Application

Microphones play an important role in capturing music, speech, and all forms of sound. Audio-Technica’s Product and Application Specialist, Brent Chamberlin, will present a hands-on workshop on how microphones work, and the theories used for microphone selection based on the desired application. We will look at popular microphone choices including Audio-Technica’s legendary workhorse, the AT4050, as well as some new, innovative ways to use microphones for a variety of applications.

Questions that should be answered during this session include:

  • Why would I choose a particular microphone over another based on the application?

  • Have you learned anything new about microphones?

  • How will microphones be used in the future?
