David Davis

David Davis is an innovative band, orchestra, and general music educator based in St. Louis Park, Minnesota, dedicated to systemic change in music education. A GRAMMY Music Educator Award semifinalist (top 25 nationwide) and Yamaha “40 Under 40” educator, he designs student-centered curricula that emphasize voice and choice, project-based learning, improvisation, and non-traditional ensembles.

David is a national teacher leader through NAfME’s Connected Arts Network, serves on the Minnesota Department of Education’s Culturally Responsive Arts Education cohort, and is a board member for the Minnesota Music Educators Association. His work focuses on culturally responsive, research-based, and inclusive teaching practices.

His ideas are featured in publications by Yamaha, ASCD, leadinggreatlearning.com, and the Amro Music “After Hours” podcast. An MEA Racial Equity Advocate, saxophonist, arranger, and curriculum designer, David is passionate about reshaping music education to be more relevant, inclusive, and engaging for all students.
