The Barbershop Harmony Society preserves and promotes the close vocal harmony art form, whose roots lie in African-American improvisation and European harmony traditions. Representing hundreds of quartets and choruses, and 20,000 members around the world, the BHS provides programming and resources for music education, publishing, performance, and community outreach.
