Daphne Wright
Executive Director, IMES
Daphne has a passion for life-long learning, especially when it comes to music and education. She is currently teaching music to over 400 elementary students grades K-5 and is excited to provide professional training for music educators across the world. She has served as the president and vice president of the Grand Junction Centennial Band and is the new Executive Director of the International Music Education Summit.
Daphne holds a bachelor’s in Music Education from Missouri State University. She is in the process of building a private lessons studio for clarinet and piano and has excelled in playing both instruments (self-taught for a number of years) since her mother’s deployment to Iraq when she was in 5th grade. Her passion for music is what pushed her through that challenging period of time and is why she continues to feel so energized about music education. When not teaching, she works to provide quality professional development that is relevant to what we are doing now in our classrooms!
In her free time, she enjoys playing with her local church band, conduction and participating in her local community band, The Grand Junction Centennial Band, and enjoying quality family time. Daphne loves the outdoors and can often be found skiing, hiking, or camping. Daphne resides in Grand Junction, Colorado with her husband, her son, and her cherished furry children.
