How the People’s Library Can Inspire Your Students in Band

SATURDAY JUNE 13 | 9:00 MT

Presented by Jenny Neff

The music we create in our ensembles is often written by composers who were influenced by things that have happened in society. This session will introduce creative ways to use Library of Congress artifacts in the concert band. The Library of Congress is the largest library in the world, with books, recordings, photographs, newspapers, maps and manuscripts in its digital collections. Participants will learn how to access and use these diverse resources to create deeper musical meaning for their students.
