Best practices for rehearsing a Middle School Jazz band

This session will primarily focus on the first few months of starting your middle school jazz band rehearsals. Building a good foundation for jazz instruction in the beginning of the year is very important so they have the skills to read jazz charts and improvise. Topics will include; warming up using swing rhythms, articulations, rhythm vocalization, set up, rhythm section, and learning their first blues tune.
