Presented by James Hill

Time: Monday July 12, 14:00 EDT (Eastern Daylight Time)

The `ukulele is a traveller by nature. From its ancestral home in Madeira to its adopted home in the Hawaiian Islands to the stages of Vaudeville and beyond, the `ukulele has taken the world by storm. In this hands-on workshop, world-renowned musician and educator James Hill shows you how the `ukulele can take your students on an engaging global journey, building music literacy and musicianship skills along the way.

During this session, James will:

* Share an interesting and timely way for educators to introduce or work with 'ukulele in their classrooms through the idea of "global journey" in repertoire.

* Use engaging and tried-and-true techniques and activities that will build music literacy and musicianship in the classroom.

* Demonstrate how accessible (for both teachers and students) and versatile the 'ukulele can be as a teaching tool.
