Baker L. Purdon
Baker L. Purdon - Doctoral Fellow, Temple University
Baker Purdon is an active educator, conductor, and pianist. He is currently pursuing his PhD in Music Education at Temple University where he was awarded a University Fellowship, the second-highest award at the university. Mr. Purdon also holds a Masters from the University of Central Missouri and BFAs from The University of Kansas. As an educator, has served as the Assistant Director of Choirs at Liberty HS, where ensembles were named a semi-finalist for the American Prize in Choral Performance and were featured on many state and regional conference stages. He also served as the Director of Choirs at Olathe East HS where his ensembles premiered works by Libby Larsen and Ryan Main, and received praise from composers such as Dan Forrest, Libby Larsen, and Sarah Quartel. Mr. Purdon has presented at various state conferences, including two presentations at the Missouri Choral Directors Annual Conference and at the Kansas Music Educators Association In-Service Workshop.
