Music Industry: The Next Step for Your Music Tech Program

Music industry programs that feature a combination of performance and production elements equip students with the experiential knowledge and skills needed to grow and thrive as musicians, producers, or other music professionals. This session will demonstrate current and future opportunities to coordinate programs that offer this potential without disrupting traditional music courses or ensemble programming.

Attendees will:

  • promote positive programmatic growth and pedagogy through the lenses of performance and production

  • cite and demonstrate appropriate student agency as a primary means of programmatic development, growth, and adaptive pedagogy developed with student interest and empowerment as the central tenant

  • provide an opportunity/lens for culturally responsive pedagogy
